On the Saturday of Easter weekend I went along to the Woodlands House Country Hotel in Brent Knoll to do the hair and make up for Blanca, her mum and sister.
The bridal party were Spanish and they had a lot of their family staying at the small hotel, that meant only one thing…. It was very loud! But it was so much fun, and to be honest hearing lots of people around me speaking in Spanish made me feel like I was on holiday!
Blanca’s sister opted for a lovely simple hair style, it was a volumised half up half down style with small braided details at the side. Fir her make up I created depth on the outer third of the eyes with a brown tone and used black gel liner on the outer third only. I kept the skin nice a glowy with a cc cream and a mineral powder over the top and finished off the look with a light pink lipstick.
Blanca’s mum hardly spoke any english so after a few hand gestures to indicate the hair style she wanted I went through and straightened her hair but flicked the ends, I then put volume through the top with some plumping powder. For her make up I kept it fairly natural with the skin and a soft definition on the eyes, but we finished it off with a bright red lip! I am judging by the thumbs up and the si si si that she was happy!
For Blanca we wanted to create a softly curled side style that had a twisted braid around the back and then all the curls were gathered to the side. Blanca had ordered a lovely headpiece that had peach toned flowers in that finished the style perfectly. For her make up we kept the skin looking soft with a glow, again using a cc cream with a mineral powder and a soft peach blush. Here eyes were defined with a soft and a deep brown shadow and a winged gel liner. To finish off we used a peachy pink lipstick which was Blanca’s own.
I had so much fun with them all and even had an invite to Madrid…..when is the next flight?!
Congratulations Blanca, thank you for including me in your special day!

Last Friday I went along to Ceri’s house to get her and her bridesmaids ready for the big day ahead.
Ceri came in for her trial about a month ago with one simple request, she wanted make up like a Kardashian! Well don’t we all. But this was music to my ears as it is nice to sometimes do a heavier make up look for a bride.
Ceri has the most amazingly thick, dark long eyelashes I have ever seen which made this look even better.
I used a mixture of Urban Decays naked 2 and 3 palettes to create a smoky eye along with black winged eyeliner. I kept her skin fresh with illimasqua skin base and then used Lovelorn from MAC on her lips.
For the bridesmaids i kept it very simple as none of them wear much make up normally, I defined the eyes with limit and nooner from the naked 3 palette, these two colours work really well to give definition but without being over powering. For the skin I used a BB cream to give a fresh look without being too heavy and the lips were a mix of nude and pink shades.
With a grey start to the day the weather turned out to be sunny, and from a picture I saw on Facebook Ceri looked stunning in her dress, I can’t wait to see more pics!
Ceri, I hope your day was amazing!

Last Friday was the very glamorous Justine’s wedding!
It was actually one of her friends that sent me a message with an enquiry after I was recommended, this was quickly followed up by a quick phone call from Justine and she was all booked in, I knew instantly on the phone she was going to bubbly and fun and I wasn’t wrong!
At her trial we chatted about the look she was after which was on the heavier side, Justine wears full make up a lot so didn’t want to go too natural as that wouldn’t be her and she definitely wanted coral lips!
On the morning of the wedding Justine and the bridal party were getting ready at the Mariott Royal in Bristol and then travelling to Kingscote Barn in Tetbury where the wedding would take place.
On the day we wanted to create flawless skin which I did using MAC face & body foundation and Justines own mineral powder over the top. For the eyes I created a smoky eye using golds and browns all from mac, for added definition I put some short and medium lashes on too. For the finishing touch it had to be Justines favourite coral lipstick Vegas Volt from mac, and I have to say she looked absolutely stunning!
For Justine’s hair I loosely waved the hair and then we worked together to get it perfect, it was to be swept over to the side but still to look natural and not too fussy so Justine got it exactly how she wanted and then I pinned it with in an inch of its life to make sure it stayed that way all day and night!
I also did the bridesmaids hair, I simply curled it through and then both of them had messy side bun but one had all her hair swept back with lots of volume on the top and the other had a softer version with a side parting at the front and little bit of volume at the back.
Justine’s dress looked so sparkly and I feel it suited her and her personality perfectly! The Bridesmaids dresses were such a lovely colour, they all looked amazing!
The flowers were all white and green which looked so pretty and fresh!
The sun was shining and I get the feeling they will all of had an amazing day!
Thanks for having me as part of your special day Justine
On Saturday I went along to Arnos Manor Hotel to get Michelle ready for her big day along with her mum and her bridesmaid.
Michelle came along to my studio to have her trial about six weeks before her big day, being an organised bride she came with plenty of ideas and pictures which is great, as Michelles hair is quite short and the kind of style she wanted needed more hair we decided to order a hair piece so we split the trial in two whilst we waited a week or so for the extra hair to arrive!
Much to our amusment, despite the fact we both agreed on a shade that we thought matched Michelles hair when it arrived it was completley wrong! So we ended up going for something different from originally planned!
With Michelles make up we chose to stay fairly natural, but wanted her eyes to stand out so I used bare study paint pot from mac as a primer, then layered up foxy, limit and nooner from the urban decay Naked palettes. As Michelles colour theme was zebra print and purple we wanted the purple to show in the make up so I used a deep plum tone Palace Pedigree from mac along the socket line and outter corner of the eye. I used short and medium lashes to open her eyes up.
I kept her skin fresh looking with Illamasqua skin base and a rosy blush. For her lips I used mac’s Dreaminess from the mineralised collection.
For her hair we ended up putting some curls through and simply braiding one side around to the back and then having lose waves on the other.
I also did the make up for her mum who wanted to look just like herself but great in pictures (don’t we all!) so I defined the eyes and kept the skin looking fresh.
For Michelles bridesmaid it was very easy as her skin was amazing so I used macs face and body foundation and a bit of bronzer on the cheeks. I defined her eyes with limit and nooner (Urban decay naked 3) in the socket line and some brown eyeliner.
When Michelles two best women arrived in zebra print dresses I knew they were in for an awesome day!
I hope you had a great day Michelle and I can’t wait to see the professional pics!
On friday of last week I got to do the very lovely Alice’s wedding hair and make up.
I went along to her mums house to get Alice, her mum and one of her bridesmaids ready for the big day.
Alice came in for her bridal trial about four weeks before the wedding and we worked out a look that was perfect for her.
(not the best lighting for this pic!)
Alice wanted a make up look that would emphasise her eyes so we went with a subtle smoky eye. I used a mac paint pot in Painterly as a primer and then foxy from the naked 2 palette as a base, I created the depth on the socket line with limit and nooner and added darkside and blackheart to the outer corner of the eye, all from the naked 3 palette.
I also used short and medium flare lashes along with brown liner . The skin was kept very fresh with mac’s face and body foundation and a pink blush.
We finished off the look with a coral lip using Im-Passioned from mac.
For Alices hair she wanted an up do that incorporated a braid and a messy bun but she also liked her hair to be big too! So I created volume across the top and the sides, french braided along both sides and then used the rest of the hair to create a messy buy at the back! I absolutely love the finished results!
Alice was getting married at Merchants Hall and despite the sky looking very grey the rain held off until around 5pm (It’s good luck to have rain on your wedding day apparently!) and by then they would have all been sitting down to eat!
Alice I hope you had an amazing day, and thank you for having me as part of it!
